It’s time again for another #BeautiesOnFire post, you voted on Twitter and decided that our theme for this week would be Retro! Firstly, if you’re unsure as to what this whole #BeautiesOnFire thing is (where have you been hiding?) then please feel free to check out my introduction post below, additionally you may peruse the past themes.

When I think of retro my mind is instantly filled with polka dots, bandanas, winged liner, red lips and anything with the same kind of vibe as the film Grease. Due to having recently created a classic beauty look (#BeautiesOnFire – As Heavenly as Hepburn?) I figured I’d simply share some of my favourite retro fashion looks with you today, alongside my current pretty polka dot nails.
Vest: Matalan
Shorts: Matalan
Crop: Primark
Disco Pants: Primark
Dress: QED London – I believe I got this from Quiz Clothing!
Dress with belt: Primark
Jacket: Bank
Heels: New Look
Shirt: Primark
Bandana: I’ve had this for aeons and the text has rubbed off from the label, I’m 90% that I got this from Claire’s, if not it could have been Tammy!
For these I firstly prepared my nails using the Model’s Own 4 in 1 nail block, I then applied a coat of Stargazer Black 129 and completed them with Model’s Own Microdots. I decided to skip using a top coat this time although I do recommend that a top coat be used for the overall durability and shine. I’m rather enjoying these, they remind me of Pacman, coincidentally, something else retro!
As always be sure to check out Everything&Nothin’ for everyone else’s retro posts. What are your favourite retro looks?
With Love,

Thank you so much cupcake! I’m really impatient with my nails, so I made a point of waiting until I’d be watching a whole load of things on YouTube so that I wouldn’t smudge them! I also tried out a quick drying spray from Primark which sped the process up a little! 😀

You’re welcome! 🙂
Haha, I would do that too, but my son likes to jump on me and climb things he shouldn’t. I’m almost positive my nails would smudge haha.
Really? I didn’t know there was such a thing!

Hahaha don’t you just love kids? 😛 I normally always manage to smudge mine, I’ve done it the day after before, like how is that even possible?! I didn’t either until I stumbled upon it whilst browsing sometime last year! It didn’t cost much so picked it up, I barely ever paint my nails though because they’re so short!
