As stated above this week is devoted to easy looks for Halloween. In all honesty I weren’t sure which direction I wanted to take this in because I feel I wouldn’t be bringing much inspiration to the table with the usual simplistic choices, then I reflected on what I did last Halloween. Not wanting to buy a new outfit I’d decided to wear my ‘dead schoolgirl’ costume though having had worn it a few times in previous years I were eager to do something a little different. Having not attempted any particular Halloween make-up before this I decided to challenge myself a little and give it a go, settling on a stitched up mouth as is seen above. The thing I love about this look is that you’re able to make it as simple or as complex as you wish by adding in your own extras or using different materials and cosmetics.

For mine I used black thread with a little eyelash glue and made sure to attach the thread to each lip individually as opposed to taking it over my mouth, of course this then enabled me to talk, drink and eat as normal. The whole notion were to make this appear rather messy which then ensures that it’s easy to recreate. For the appearance of tears I put a little Vaseline over my make-up where I wanted to emphasise the fake tears, whilst the blooded mouth wounds were achieved with liquid lipstick. For further details of this look you may check out my post from last year ‘Ghastly Ghosts and Gory Ghouls!’ additionally, the items used for this look are as listed below.

  1. That looks somehow disturbingly cute and creepy all at once. I don’t know how you managed it. But your expression in the photos just effing MAKES it too. You’ve gotta commit with the expressions when going for something creepier, I don’t think I could do a mouth sewn off look, I’d forget and try to talik and the glue would rip free. Not even kidding. I could forget that. xD

    Amazing, girl!

    • You’ve no idea how much you’ve made my day with this comment, thank you so much sweetpea! Haha luckily this version went okay with talking because I glued my lips individually rather than completely over.. I’ve seen people doing the same kind of look but completely closing their mouths off and I’ve just been kinda like, but erm, food, drink? I can’t go without my food for very long hahaha!
