Due to sharing a make-up look for my #BeautiesOnFire posts on most weeks I decided to switch it up a little today and focus instead on fashion! I have a passion for music, which includes being mesmerised by gigs and music festivals and this is what I’ll be concentrating on today. Although the festival season is over it doesn’t mean that you can’t sport similar looks for gigs, or simply hold onto the magic a little longer and revel in nostalgia! I do hope the below photographs will provide inspiration.

Top tips to enjoy your gig experience:
Don’t drink too much, you’ll need the toilet more which of course is an utter inconvenience!
Lay off on the alcohol, unless of course you want to forget the whole experience.
Go to the toilet before and during the support acts as it saves on missing the main act, it’s always far too packed to get anywhere during a short interval and you may not make it back in time.
Purchase any merchandise from inside the venue, this ensures it’s legitimate and the proceeds will go to the artist rather than the cons outside.
Don’t watch through a camera or some other screen, it’s nice to get photos and footage but don’t miss out on the fun!
Plan your travel and exits beforehand, it will prevent panic arising if there’s a last minute change of exit used by the venue. Also ensure you’re with a friend.
Go with someone you trust and who you enjoy spending time with, it’s always better sharing spectacular memories with a person you genuinely appreciate.
Be sure to eat something sufficient beforehand, you’ll want to keep your energy up as you’ll be there for quite some time. The cost of food in these kind of places is typically sky high!
An over body bag will be a life saver, it ensures all of your possessions are close to you at all times whilst being harder for someone to bag snatch, it saves on you having to carry the bag in your hand, too.
Plan a designated meeting point for the event in which you may lose your friends, phone signals aren’t always reliable and it’s easy to get lost.
Wait behind a little after if you don’t have a train to catch too soon, this will mean the majority will have dispersed, making it easier and less stressful for your own exit.
These places can become very warm as there’s a crazy amount of body heat radiating from everyone else, take a hoodie or something for the journey to and from, otherwise wear something light which will give you plenty of ventilation.
I think it goes without saying that heels are a definite no! A pair of pumps will do the trick, you may find it hard to believe but it isn’t a fashion show, it’s all about the music!

Now for a little spooky thrown in, I can’t get enough of the music which does it’s rounds at Halloween, in fact I’ve had a couple Halloween songs stuck in my head throughout the year since last Halloween! Below are some of my ultimate favourites!

Michael Jackson – Thriller
Nightmare Before Christmas – This Is Halloween
James Horner – The Full Casper Soundtrack
Jordan Hill – Remember Me This Way
The Addams Family Theme Tune
Napoleon XIV – They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!
Hex Girls – I’m a Hex Girl
Hex Girls – Earth, Wind, Fire and Air

As always be sure to check out everything&nothin’ for everyone else’s music/bands posts and be sure to check back here to see what other tricks and treats I’ll be bringing to the table in the run up to Halloween! Tweet me any Halloween questions you may have for me to earn a place in my upcoming Q&A, and be sure to leave me a comment below letting me know which is your favourite Halloween song, as well as any additional gig tips you may have!

  2. Yay! Great tips! I followed most if not all of those when I used to go to concerts and stuff. Oh man, I would go to gigs at least once a month!! I totally miss it! My most favorite one and by far the most memorable was when I saw enter shikari! Ahhhh!!! The feels! 😭😭😭

    • Eeee thank you honey! Same here, I haven’t been to a gig in SO long. I used to go to see loads of local bands too but the local music scene seems to be dying out. I’m not sure I can pick a favourite.. Avril Lavigne were my first and that were incredible, I adored her and being my first and all… But My Chemical Romance are absolutely amazing live, they put on a real show.. Then I adored the gigs I went to for Blink-182, Angels and Airwaves, The Enemy and Arctic Monkeys.. But then there’s festivals too.. I think my best festival would have to have been the weekend I did at Leeds though, Kasabian and Foo Fighters were unreal… Arghhh I just can’t choose hahaha!

      • Ah yes! The local scene is alive and well in my state. There’s a ton of talent here and there’s even a local radio station that features only local bands, so that’s pretty sweet. I once saw a band playing in the streets downtown and that’s how they would get their music out. They changed their location weekly, it was pretty sweet.
I’ve seen a huge variety of bands. I’m so jealous you’ve gotten to see blink 182 but on the bright side, I’ve seen lots of favorites when I thought I never would. ❤

      • Oh wow that sounds absolutely epic! I’d love something like that over here. Same here when I think about it, I often feel like I haven’t been to too many gigs but I’ve had a fair share, then there’s some bands I’ve seen multiple times. There’s definitely loads more on my list that I’d love to see though! Blink were honestly so so amazing, I’d been so excited for it as it weren’t until their comeback tour a few years ago that I got to see them, I’ll never forget it that’s for sure. It sounds like we have some music likes in common here though which is fab! 🙂 ❤

      • Yeah they’re an amazing band! I’ve always admired them because they are one of few bands who have kept their original sound.

And I know! Isn’t it amazing when you find another person who shares the same interest?! Makeup and music! High five doll!
